Icebreakers are pre-filled question buttons that appear at the bottom of the chat when a user opens a DM with you for the very first time. They are the perfect way to guide potential customers into your sales funnels.
Setting up Icebreakers
- Navigate to Settings > Icebreakers in your DMRocket dashboard.
- Enter up to 4 questions (e.g., “Do you offer discounts?”, “How does pricing work?”). Keep them under 80 characters.
- Click Sync to Instagram.
You cannot have both Icebreakers and a persistent “Get Started” menu active on Instagram at the same time. Syncing Icebreakers will override your default greeting menu.
Attaching Automations to Icebreakers
Once synced, you can attach specific flows to each question.
- Go to the Flow Builder and click Create Custom Automation.
- Select Icebreaker (Welcome) as your trigger.
- Select the exact question you want to automate from the keyword list.
- Build your response flow! Whenever a new user taps that specific Icebreaker question, DMRocket will automatically deploy your sequence.
